JGC Fluor (JFJV) is beginning work to twin Alcan Bridge, which is currently being used to transport aggregate for the LNG Canada Project from Sandhill to site along the North Haul Road. Another bridge will be built beside the existing bridge to allow for increased hauling capacity and to meet the project’s aggregate requirements.

Site preparation will include clearing, grubbing, stripping, and earthworks around the existing bridge, followed by the installation of piles to support the new bridge deck. Noise is expected to be minimal.

Piling activities for bridge supports are planned to begin mid-September and will take approximately two weeks to complete. This work will occur between 6:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., seven days per week.

Some traffic disruptions are expected. A traffic management plan is in place and traffic control measures, including flaggers, will be used as required. Construction of the new bridge will be complete this fall.
