Beginning the week of February 10, site preparation activities (tree felling, clearing, and grubbing) will begin for construction of a new river water pumphouse, water line, and substation for the LNG Canada Project.
As part of the LNG processing plant design, water will be sourced from the Kitimat River and will be used for multiple areas of the project during both construction and operations.
These activities will visible in areas along Haisla Boulevard between the old Eurocan pumphouse and the project site. Work will occur between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., seven days per week, and is expected to take eight weeks to complete.
All permits are in place and a transportation plan is being developed to minimize traffic impacts and ensure road safety. JFJV’s contractor will also install temporary fencing to restrict public access and keep the community safe.
