Beginning as early as January 6, additional truck traffic can be expected along Haisla Boulevard between Eurocan Way and Ocelot Road. Trucks will be hauling aggregate from Sandhill to the LNG Canada Project site.
This route will be utilized while upgrades are made to Frontage Rd, which runs parallel to Haisla Blvd and connects to Ocelot Rd. Once complete, Frontage Rd will be used for inbound and outbound haul trucks, which will cross Haisla Blvd at the intersection of Haisla Blvd and Eurocan Way. This route is expected to be in use within a few weeks.
Hauling will occur Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 a.m. (day and night shifts). During peak traffic flows, priority will be given to general road users. Fifteen trucks will be used and each will transport approximately 10 to 13 loads per shift. A traffic management plan is in place and traffic control measures, including flaggers and signage, will be used.
All approvals and permits have been granted for this activity, which is expected to be complete by spring 2020.
